PRODUCT DEFINITION
RUT System is an industrial design–driven product system for stress awareness and immediate relief in office environments.
It consists of two physical products:
R-mess – a wearable device that senses physiological stress signals
R-relief – a stationary office device that provides physical stress relief
The system follows a clear sense → translate → relieve logic, transforming invisible workplace stress into a tangible, physical experience.
The project explores the body as an interface, positioning industrial design as a mediator between emotion, physiology, and workspace.

DESIGN FOCUS
_ Body compatibility: R-mess is designed for long-term wear, emphasizing comfort, breathability, and soft contact with the skin.
_ Non-intrusive presence: R-relief integrates quietly into office environments without interrupting workflow.

_ Emotion over data: Stress states are expressed through form, movement, and material rather than screens or numbers.

_ System coherence: Both products share a consistent form language, proportions, and CMF strategy.

FORM & PROPORTION STRATEGY

R-mess

_ Elongated, organic geometry that follows body contours
_ Slim profile to minimize the perception of electronics
_ Central functional core surrounded by soft, flexible zones

R-relief

_ Calm cubic outer volume suitable for office spaces
_ Circular kinetic core as the visual and emotional focal point
_ Slow mechanical movement creating a breathing-like rhythm

CMF STRATEGY

Color:
Low-saturation, calming tones inspired by natural materials

Material:
R-mess uses smart textiles for skin comfort and flexibility
R-relief combines wood, metal, and textile to emphasize a furniture-like character

Finish:
Matte, soft-touch surfaces prioritizing tactile quality and calmness

PROJECT CONTEXT
Growing stress in office work and a lack of physical, body-oriented relief products
